TÔI LÀ CƠ THỂ TÔI. Mà cơ thể tôi thì buồn bã và mệt mỏi. Tôi sẵn sàng ngủ cả tuần, cả tháng. Đừng nói gì với tôi cả.

Tôi cầu mong là khi tôi mở mắt, con cái tôi đã khôn lớn và mọi thứ sẽ mỉm cười.

Tôi muốn ngưng dò bước trên đôi chân trần giữa giá lạnh. Hãy phủ lên tôi tất cả những gì ấm áp, ra trải giường, chăn mền, một vài tờ giấy và những vật kỷ niệm, và hãy đóng cửa lại để sự cô đơn của tôi không thoát ra ngoài.

SOY MI CUERPO. Y mi cuerpo está triste, está cansado. Me dispongo a dormir una semana, un mes; no me hablen.

Que cuando abra los ojos hayan crecido los niños y todas las cosas sonrían.

Quiero dejar de pisar con los pies desnudos el frío. Échenme encima todo lo que tenga calor, las sábanas, las mantas, algunos papeles y recuerdos, y cierren todas las puertas para que no se vaya mi soledad.

Quiero dormir un mes, un año, dormirme. Y si hablo dormido no me hagan caso, si digo algún nombre, si me quejo. Quiero que hagan de cuenta que estoy enterrado, y que ustedes no pueden hacer nada hasta el día de la resurrección.

Ahora quiero dormir un año, nada más dormir.

I AM MY BODY. And my body is sad and tired. I’m ready to sleep for a week, a month. Not to be disturbed.

I hope that when I open my eyes my children will have grown up and everything will be smiling.

I want to stop walking around barefoot in the cold. Cover me up with everything that’s warm, the sheets, the blankets, a few papers and keepsakes, and close the door to keep my solitude in.

I want to sleep for a month, a year, go to sleep. And if I talk in my sleep don’t pay any attention, if I say a name, if I complain, I want to be considered buried, so that there’s nothing for you to do until resurrection day.

Now I want to sleep for year, just sleep.
