Ngày Cuối Cùng Của Mùa Đông | The Last Day of Winter | El Último Día De Invierno – Phan Quỳnh Trâm

Tranh: Caspar David Friedrich: Winter Landscapes (1811).

THE LAST DAY OF WINTER

winter’s leaving
the chill’s a coarse coat
that remains, holds and bites
into
flesh

a person has gone
a part of someone else ‘s
limbs and the rest
is detached,
pained

a forgone love
leaving a maze of steps
and traces
you try to erase and
fail

a life one has spent,
not much left:
a modicum of ashes
ready to run blindly
with
the scattered
winter-wind

Phan Quỳnh Trâm

EL ÚLTIMO DÍA DE INVIERNO

el invierno se aleja
el frío es un áspero abrigo
que permanece, aprieta y muerde
adentro
de la carne

una persona se ha ido
parte de alguien más
miembros y el resto
se desprende
dolorosamente

un amor perdido
dejando atrás una confusión de pasos
y rastros
que uno trata de borrar
inútilmente

una vida entregada y
casi nada queda:
un montículo de cenizas
listas para dispersarse
con
el esporádico
viento invernal

Phan Quỳnh Trâm
