THÀ LÀ CÁNH CHIM BAY QUA

Thà là cánh chim bay qua, không để lại dấu vết
Còn hơn dấu chân con thú, hằn sâu trên mặt đất
Chim bay qua rồi bị lãng quên, như lẽ ra phải thế
Con thú đã đi rồi, cũng chẳng còn ích gì,
Chỉ để lại vết tích vô nghĩa là nó từng hiện diện. 

Ký ức là sự phản bội Thiên Nhiên,
Bởi vì Thiên Nhiên của ngày hôm qua 
Không còn là Thiên Nhiên nữa.
Cái đã qua là không gì cả, và nhớ lại nghĩa là không nhìn thấy.

Hãy bay qua, chim ơi, và dạy cho ta bay qua!

Better the flight of the bird that passes and leaves no trace 
Than the passage of the animal, recorded in the ground.
The bird passes and is forgotten, which is how it should be.
The animal, no longer there and so of no further use,
Uselessly shows it was there.
Remembrance is a betrayal of Nature, Because yesterday’s Nature isn’t Nature.
What was is nothing, and to remember is not to see.
Pass by, bird, pass, and teach me to pass!
